I am so excited to be a founding mother of the Alpha Omicron chapter of Omega Phi Alpha at the University of Florida!
Omega Phi Alpha is a national service sorority with active chapters all over the country. Founded in 1967, Omega Phi Alpha is dedicated to promoting service and leadership in its sisters and in the community.
As a founding mother of Omega Phi Alpha, I spent a year, along with 20 other sisters, colonizing a chapter on the UF campus. I am the public relations chair which means I created and run the website, Twitter, Instagram (@OPhiA_UF) and Tumblr. I head the public relations committee and am also responsible for promoting recruitment every semester and publicizing events and fundraisers.
I created a monthly newsletter to be distributed digitally to sisters and alumnae. The newsletter features stories about chapter happenings, service projects, social events, sister activities, a letter from the president, treasurer's report, alumnae updates, national news and pledge updates.
